1) Q How do I get a pothole in the street repaired?

The Street dept. will investigate and return your call with the results.

2) Q When will my street be swept?
A The Street dept. sweeps only curbed streets. The process takes 4-5 weeks to
sweep all curbed streets inside the City. You may call 458-7537 or 458-7531.

3) Q How do I get sidewalk and streets repaired?

4) Q A stop sign is missing or down. Who do I call?
A A stop sign missing or down is considered an emergency. Please
Call 458-7537 or 458-7531 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Monday through Friday. After-hours please call 911. The street dept. will
immediately dispatch a crew to replace or reset the stop sign.

5) Q A street sign is missing or down. Who do I call?

6) Q There is debris, an oil spill or an animal in the street. How do I get it
removed?

7) Q Excavation in city streets and driveway permits?
A It is unlawful for any person, firm, corporation, association, or others to make
any excavation in any street, alley, public place or city right-of-way, or to
tunnel under any street, alley, public place or city right-of way without first
having obtained a permit from the Public Works Department.

Sanitation Department

The City of Loudon provides curbside residential garbage collection twice per week, Either Monday and Thursday or Tuesday and Friday. There is no garbage collection on holidays. It will be picked up on the next scheduled pickup day. Garbage cans shall not be larger than (32) gallon.

Leaf Collection Service


Curbside leaf collection is provided
from October 15th to April 15th.

Residents should not put leaves in bags, but leave them loose behind the curb for
vacuum pickup. Please don’t mix tree limbs or trash with leaves.



Brush, Rubbish And Bulky Waste


The City of Loudon provides curbside pick up of brush, rubbish and bulky goods on
a continuous basis. Brush should be stacked with all the cut ends facing the street.
It is not necessary to call for this service.

The city public works department will not pick up, chip, or dispose of any tree limbs, wood, or other debris that is created by contract tree trimmers or other paid individuals.



Collection Of Household Debris


The City will pick up building material from homes being remodeled by the owner
provided:
1. The homeowner is doing the work (no contractor or free-out side labor).
2. The material is placed in an orderly manner by the curb so that the City crew can
load the material in ten (10) minutes or less.
3. No shingles, liquids (including paint), tire-mounted wheels, or other material that
can be deposited in the landfill will be collected.

When available, the City will provide a truck between 7:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.,
On regular business days, for the homeowner to load (this does not apply to
weekends or holidays observed by the City):
1. No shingles, liquids (including paint), tire-mounted wheels, or other material
that cannot be deposited in the landfill will be collected.
2. The truck must be loaded in such a manner as to meet the regulations for
hauling.
3. There will be a prepaid charge of $150.00 for the first use of a truck.
The fee will not be assessed for the first use of a truck in any (12) month period.
